Carol Jean Meyer

Carol Jean Meyer, 80, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home.

Carol was born May 3, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Glenn and June (Cordts) Meyer. She attended local grade school and Wamego High School.

Carol was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over thirty years at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego. She was very proud of the care she gave residents of the nursing home over the years.

One of her favorite pastimes was going to the casino. She loved to play cards, especially pitch and rummy. Doing board searches and watching westerns and the Andy Griffith Show, were also pastimes Carol enjoyed. She loved spending time with her family and friends and taking car rides.

Carol is survived by her children, Sandy Benton (Ron) and Donald Jones (April), both of Wamego; her grandchildren, Jeremy Benton (Kayla) and Erica Benton, both of Wamego, Anthony Jones (Skylar), Phoenix, Arizona, Trent Jones (Jewel), Wamego, and Nenah Tillman (Alex), Topeka; her great-grandchildren, Dexter, Atreyu, Isabella, Sophia, boy grandson, Grace, Reese, Declan, Neveah, and Eamon; and her sister, Sharon Deedrick, Topeka. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Peggy, and her great-grandson, Leon.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, July 18, 2026, At Campanella and Steward Funeral Home in Wamego. The family suggests memorial contributions be made out to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made at www.campanellastewart.com.
