James “Jimmy” Good, 72, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan.
Jimmy was born on January 12, 1954, in Westmoreland, Kansas, the son of Doris Guy and Margaret Lena (Cordts) Good. He attended local grade school and in 1972, graduated from Westmoreland High School.
Jimmy was an alignment specialist and ford certified mechanic. He started with Skaggs Ford dealership which then became Dick Edwards Ford. He retired in 2019.
He enjoyed spending time with friends at Kites and going to car shows. Jimmy was partial to Ford Mustangs and owned several different ones but his favorite was his 1966 black convertible. Jimmy was a man of simple tastes. He liked to listen to music and his favorite artists were Linda Ronstadt and Carly Simon.
Jimmy married Cynthia Smith in 1980. They were later divorced.
He is survived by his children; Robert Sterling (Chelsi), Wamego, and Candice Miller, St. Jacob, Illinois; his grandchildren, Kayden, Dylan, Savannah, Lathan and Ainsley. Jimmy is also survived by his siblings, Bob Good (Terri), Topeka, Mike Good (Wanda), Manhattan, and Joni Thomson (Jack), Arlington, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Westmoreland City Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the graveside beginning at 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, at Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1 - 3 at Kites Bar and Grill in Manhattan. Memorial contributions are suggested to The American Cancer Society and those may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.campanellastewart.com.
