James "Jim" D. Roth, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Paxico, Kansas, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by Family.

Born on November 1, 1959, to Bernice (Stitz) and Michael Roth. Jim grew up in Emmett, KS, before making Paxico his lifelong home.

Jim graduated from St. Mary's High School. Jim had various jobs until he joined the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), following in his father's footsteps. For 35 years, he worked as a Senior Equipment Operator before his well-earned retirement.

In 1987, Jim married Rebecca Henderson, she survives of the home.

Jim enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time outdoors working on projects in the yard. Jim had a love of animals and had several beloved dogs in his life that he treasured. He also enjoyed raising various types of animals, including Ducks, Geese, Emus, and turkeys. He had two Pygmy goats, Eddie and Eddy, which were the source of many funny stories.

Jim loved the simple things in Life. He loved his Family and was proud of where he came from and appreciated a good, cold Busch Light. Jim's dry wit and storytelling style were qualities for which he was known.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gerald, and his brother-in-law, Rick Jones .

Jim is survived by his wife Rebecca Roth; siblings, Linda Roth of Kansas City, Patricia Jones, Mary Roth, and Judy (Sam) Grant, all of Topeka; brothers, Mike (Ann) Roth, Shelburne, Vermont, Joe (Barbara) Roth, Rossville, Gary (Tina) Roth, St. Mary's, John Roth, Steve Roth all of Emmett—Brother-in-law Donald Henderson (Debbie), Topeka; Sister-in-law Connie DeGuair, of Hawaii. Jim had many cousins on both his father, Mike's, and his mother, Bernice's, sides, whom he loved and had great memories of spending his childhood with. He still loved hearing from them.

He is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews, as well as a growing number of great-nieces and nephews. Jim was very proud of his Nieces and Nephews and always loved hearing about their lives.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Interim Hospice of Manhattan for their compassion and care.

Jim will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will always be a blessing to all those who knew him.
