Richard Dale Cooper
March 31, 1957 – August 23, 2024
Richard Dale Cooper, 67, of Fostoria Kansas, passed away at home on August 23, 2024. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Rich had a life filled with experiences and maintained a strong sense of determination. He has left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Born on March 31, 1957, Rich was the youngest son of Robert and Sue Cooper. Rich’s professional life was marked by 38 years of dedicated service as an Operations Manager at Manhattan Town Center, where he played a pivotal role in maintaining the facilities, coordinating with tenants, and ensuring customer satisfaction - all while enjoying the camaraderie with his co-workers and of course, people watching.
Rich married Jan in 1980 and over the course of 44 years, together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Rich was a loving father to two children: Ashley and Nick and 4 beautiful grandchildren Brooklyn, Mason, Hadley, and Rori. And this is where Rich’s light shone. His pride in his family was evident. He looked forward to spending time with them every week during their cherished family suppers at their home where the horizon went on endlessly, and of course at Lake Catherine, where family from all over gathered at the anticipated biennial family reunion.
In his personal life, Rich loved being outdoors, especially when hunting was involved and like his own uniqueness, he enjoyed coin collecting.
Rich is survived by his father, Robert (Bob), his wife, Jan; his children, Ashley (Brad) Rice and Nick (Mary Alice) Cooper; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mason, Hadley and Rori; and his siblings Robert (Bob) Cooper and James (Jim) Cooper. He was preceded in death by his mother Sue Cooper.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home.
