William "Bill" Charles Prinz

William "Bill" Charles Prinz, age 80, passed away on April 9, 2026, in Westmoreland, Kansas.

He was born on June 28, 1945, in Fostoria, Kansas, the son of Henry and Lucy (Flinn) Prinz. On July 4, 1965, Bill married Roberta Rae "Bobbi" Siegle in Westmoreland, Kansas.

Bill was a lifetime farmer and rancher who found joy in working the land and tending livestock. His career also included roles as a custodian and animal caretaker at the veterinary hospital at Kansas State University. For a time, he worked as a dump truck driver at MCM. Bill’s connection to agriculture extended beyond work; he loved fishing, listening to cattle auctions, and being involved in the farming and ranching community.

A graduate of Westmoreland High School, Bill valued community and social interaction. He was a sociable man who enjoyed spending time at the sale barn café and watching cattle auctions—initially in person and later online. Bill was also known to engage warmly with others at the South 40 Cafe in Westmoreland. Despite his many contributions to those around him, he never sought recognition, preferring to give quietly and generously.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Will) Prinz-Shakespeare, and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Rae "Bobbi" Prinz, and his parents, Henry and Lucy (Flinn) Prinz.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice or the Westmoreland United Methodist Church and left in care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, P.O.
